ABOUT THE EVENT
The Australian Beach Run Grand Prix is an exciting and dynamic event format, open to all ages (10 Yrs and over) and all abilities, held in conjunction with the Bayside Run Festival and in partnership with Surf Life Saving Australia.
The event will bring together athletes from surf life saving and athletics backgrounds as well as other sports and the general population to see who is fastest on sand across a range of distances and age groups!
DRAFT EVENT SCHEDULE
This timetable is to be used as a guide only. A final timetable will be published after entries close. Entries will close on Wednesday 20th May at 11:59pm.
All events will be timed finals.
​AGE GROUPS/CATEGORIES

Age is determined as at 31st December 2026.​

Races may be merged with multiple age groups running at once (and then results separated into categories after the race).

Runners will automatically be assigned their age group (based on date of birth) if they select the "Age Group" option in registration.

Athletes who would like to compete in the "Open" division must select this division in registration.​

CLUB CHALLENGE- AUS BEACH RUN GRAND PRIX
All club groups are encouraged to set up a team as part of the registration process. Runners must select their club as part of the registration process
For every club member who participates in an individual event, they get one participation point. If the same club member participates in more than one individual event, they get one participation point for EVERY event they participate in.

Points are also earnt through placing in the Mixed Sprint Medley Relay for each age group:
1st Place- 10 Points
2nd Place- 8 Points
3rd Place- 6 Points
4th Place- 4 Points
5th Place- 2 Points

NOTE: The relay team name needs to be the club name to make it clear who the points go towards. If a club enters multiple teams in a division for the relay, only the top performing team gets the points (e.g. if one club has two teams that finish 1st and 2nd in a relay, the 1st placed team will get 10 points and the team who places 3rd will receive 8 points).

The TOP 3 teams with the highest accumulative trophy will be presented medals (to all contributing team members).
COURSE/SITE MAP
ELIGIBILITY​
Runners do not have to be a member of a surf life saving or athletics club to take part. It is open to all participants.​
Surf Life Saving club members are strongly encouraged to wear their club cap and apparel during their run.
CHECK IN, MARSHAL AND START PROCESS​

Athletes are to collect their bib from the bib collection area at least 60 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of their first event. This bib must be worn during their run.

If athletes enter by Monday 4th May 11:59pm, their bib will be personalised (have their name).

At least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of each event, athletes are to report to the marshalling area (behind the start line, except for the 60m and 150m event which will be to the side of the track at the far end). Do not rely on a marshalling call for events.

For 400m, 800m, 1 Mile and relay events, a course briefing will be given by the starter or referee while the race before is on course.

Athletes will stay in the marshalling area until the announcer/commentator introduces your name to which you will take your place on the start line. As soon as all athletes have been introduced, they will be in the hands of the starter
PRIZES

Runners who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their age/gender event will be awarded custom Australian Beach Run Grand Prix medals.​

Lucky draw prizes will also be up for grabs at the presentation
RESULTS

Full results for all participants will be available from https://www.multisportaustralia.com.au/ as soon as they are finalised after the completion of each event.

Reporting a Result Error: If you believe that a result is missing or is incorrect, please report it as soon as possible at the event to Multisport Australia staff. If noticed after the event, you can report it via the “Report An Error” link at the bottom of the relevant results page on https://www.multisportaustralia.com.au
ENTRY FEE
The entry fee is $20 per individual event.
A Sprint Medley Relay team will cost $40 per team.
